The Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, as part of its commitment to initiatives that disseminate Greek Letters internationally, is launching a translation grant programme for the translation of Greek publications of all genres into other languages.
The programme encompasses works from Greek contemporary and classic literature, but also works from other intellectual, scientific, cultural fields that could find place in book markets abroad, and contribute to the dissemination of Greece’s cultural heritage and contemporary creativity.
Its goal is to promote the dynamic Greek publishing sector and showcase the work of Greek authors abroad, through its translation programme and ongoing online updates on events and news related to the Greek Letters.
The GreekLit platform will be further enriched with additional programmes such as travel grants and residencies for authors, translators, publishers and other field professionals, as well as a database of book industry professionals.
