Alexandros Filippidis (pen name: Orfeas Apergis, b. Athens, 1974) is a poet, essayist, translator and performer. He has been publishing in Greek literary journals and newspapers since 2006. His collected poems appeared in 2011, under the title "Y". He has translated Byron, Emily Brontë, Browning, Pound, T.S. Eliot, MacNeice, W.C. Williams, Bishop, Moore, Duncan, Larkin, Knott, Hill, Muldoon, and Aristophanes into English, among others. His latest translation is "Hellas, a lyrical drama, by Percy Bysshe Shelley" (annotated translation into Greek, Gutenberg eds, 2021).
