The website www.greeklit.gr belongs to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sport (hereinafter HMC) and the Hellenic Foundation for Culture (hereinafter HFC). This website, through technologically advanced internet infrastructure and open and closed source software applications, can offer everyone (hereinafter the visitor/user) free information services, participation, information and technological applications relating to the HMC and HFC under the following terms of use. The act of using/visiting, browsing, archiving/cataloguing the above services and applications, and of remaining on this website, both presupposes and constitutes a de facto and unconditional acceptance of the terms of use described below.
Using/visiting the aforementioned website, its electronic pages and services www.greeklit.gr presupposes the careful reading of, unconditional agreement with, and acceptance of the following terms of use by the visitor/user prior to use. The terms of use apply to the entire contents of the site, including but not limited to files, documents, images, photographs, drawings, graphics, videos and software applications.
If the visitor/user does not agree with the content of this website, they are obliged not to use its services and content. The visitor/user is requested to check the content of the specific pages for possible changes. Continuing to use the website www.greeklit.gr even after such changes implies the unconditional acceptance of these terms on the part of the visitor/user.
The terms and conditions of use of this website constitute the entire agreement between the HMC/HFC and the visitor/user of its pages and services and is binding on them alone. No modification of these terms of use will be taken into consideration and form part of this agreement if it is not made in writing and if it has not been incorporated into these terms of use. Unless otherwise specified, the following terms are in force immediately and in their entirety on this site.
The visitor/user of the website www.greeklit.gr is obliged to use it in accordance with the law and these terms of use. Any use of this website must be solely for lawful purposes and must not restrict or prevent its use by third parties; the user/visitor must not commit any acts or omissions that may damage the site or cause it to malfunction and/or adversely affect or jeopardize the provision of the services it provides to the public through it.
Intellectual Property Rights
The entire contents of the website, including (but not limited to) documents, text, files, news, graphics, images, photographs, drawings, depictions, videos, cartoons, software and services, along with the terms and conditions of this website and any amendments made to them, are governed by Greek law, European Union law and relevant international conventions; they are the intellectual property of the HMC and HFC and are governed by the national and international law on intellectual property. Logos, names, brands and features included on the website belong to www.greeklit.gr and/or the persons listed on the site as the owners of the rights in question, and are protected in accordance with the legislation in force on Industrial and Intellectual Property and related rights (Law 2121/1993).
Should it be found that any provision of these terms is contrary to the legal framework outlined above or rendered redundant by it, that provision will cease to hold and will be removed from the present document without this impacting on the validity of the remaining terms in any way.
The HMC and HFC have the right to upload, publicly display, reproduce, multiply, make available, exploit and otherwise use the site content listed above indicatively and not exhaustively in any way and through any conventional, electronic or digital means, even if such media are not referred to explicitly herein. The HMC and HFC have the right to change, modify, truncate, remove, vary and compose the content posted on the portal at any time, both in its entirety and component parts (text, images, videos, etc.).
The use of any other material protected by Law 2121/93 or any other relevant legislation, and which has been identified as the intellectual or industrial property of third parties, is not covered. Employees of the HMC, the HMC’s Regional and Special Regional Services and Public Museums are not considered third parties, irrespective of the nature of their work and/or areas of specialization; nor is anyone providing a service/working on a project relating to the digital photography/filming/cataloguing of monuments, sites or places, events , concerts, etc. of the HMC and HFC and, generally speaking, those who have assigned, granted and transferred in writing and in accordance with the provisions of the law on copyright their rights to the material posted on the www.greeklit.gr website.
Permissions
Any use, reproduction, republication, copying, storage, sale, transmission, distribution, publication, performance, download, translation and modification by any means of the content of www.greeklit.gr and the services provided on that website is expressly forbidden without prior permission.
Exceptionally, individual instances of storing and copying, reproducing, republishing, transmitting or distributing parts of the content on a simple personal computer for strictly personal use, without any intention to exploit the material commercially for advertising or in any other way, without a direct or indirect financial or commercial goal or advertising goal, and always on the condition that the source of such content is acknowledged, without this implying in any way the granting of Intellectual Property rights belonging to the Greek State (HMC) or the HFC, is permitted. www.greeklit.gr and/or the persons listed as owners of the corresponding rights to the website and protected in accordance with the legislation in force on Industrial and Intellectual Property shall make every effort, and take all necessary measures, to ensure that all the content and information displayed and published on the site is accurate, clear, correct, complete, timely and available. Nonetheless, the HMC and HFC are not responsible for any spelling or other errors made during the republication of the information in question.
The website provides for communication forms, bulletin boards and interactive areas. The use of the above implies that the user/visitor is solely responsible for any communication they carry out and for any consequences stemming from the publication of this communication. The HMC and HFC are not responsible for the fidelity, accuracy or reliability of any material posted on any of the site’s interactive areas, or for the consequences of communication in interactive areas, or any consequences stemming from the use of the website. The HMC and HFC can under no circumstances be deemed to accept or endorse in any way the ideas, perceptions and actions of the user as these result from their communication.
